Vrata valley by bus

The Vrata Valley is considered one of the most beautiful alpine valleys in Slovenia. To help preserve its unspoilt natural environment, we have introduced a bus service that safely transports hikers and other visitors from Mojstrana, the village beneath Mount Triglav, via the Peričnik Waterfall all the way to Aljaž Lodge in the Vrata Valley.

Free bus services on this route will operate from 15 June to 30 September.

The first departure to the Vrata Valley is at 4:00 a.m., while the last return service will operate in the evening. At 4:00 a.m., transportation will be provided by a minivan, followed by the regular bus service starting at 5:00 a.m. Small dogs are permitted on board if carried in a travel carrier.

NEW IN 2026 – SEAT RESERVATION SYSTEM

A new feature will be introduced in 2026: the possibility to reserve seats in advance at two boarding points:

  • Prodi Park & Ride parking area, and
  • Aljaž Lodge in the Vrata Valley.

Up to 50% of the available seats will be reservable in advance.

The reservation fee is €3 per seat, helping to ensure that reserved seats are actually used and do not remain empty.

The reservation system will be available online and announced in due course.
